Designing with Plants
When I started garden design I had one thing in mind, to plan and create gardens so that my passion, experience, knowledge and hard work over the years would be put to good use. As a designer and horticulturist I don’t have a solid focus on just one type of garden mainly because plants belong in every garden, they give colour, interest and life and they make the garden a room all on its own.
Designing with plants gives colour, structure, interest is good for wildlife, good for the planet, an area to live in naturally and respectively share with the wildlife that rely on it. Garden design is not always about hard surfaces, its about balance and enhancing the things you like most, the ones that make you feel good, smile about, be around, its therapeutic, can be a great help to ADHD, and can relax you mentally at the end of the week to enjoy the coming weekend.
So, make every weekend one to enjoy, your partner, your kids will love you for it

Pests,plants and management
Its all about keeping your plants looking good and healthy all year round, the soil, nutrients and plant selection.
Use your plants to blend with you and the garden, renovate old borders, re-plan areas, enhance other features ( Conservatory, Extension, Garden Room ) let them work with you not against you.
When I was training at Bristol Zoological Gardens, we had a reputation to keep up and the team of gardeners always did it with a passion.

Gardening Tuition
Would you like to know more about the plants in your garden, nervous about what to cut, plant and when ?
Looking at just the theory is fine to understand the process, but its the practical side many people struggle with. Inspire offer practical lessons spread over 3 to 5 hours which not only gives the theory but also takes you through the actual task of doing it. We all have different techniques and when we have finished you will have found yours, be more confident and have a contact if there are any further questions, could be 1 day or 1 year later it doesn’t matter.
Tutoring Sessions
Tutoring sessions are normally 3 hours long, either mornings or afternoons whichever time suits you best. I can do individual or up to 3 people for a session, or group sessions can also be arranged.
Beginners, to those who know the basics and need a little encouragement or regular visits to re-vamp your garden combining tutoring with more practical work with you to create your garden ( or border ) areas.
There is a distinct lack of younger people entering the Horticultural profession so any one who needs guidance to pursue this type of career is also very welcome to discuss what Inspire can help them with as well.
